He found his greatest inspiration in the sea and its variety in color and form; how it changes in appearance in different parts of the world. He thought that the sea has so many guises was exciting and it is from that perspective that Göran approached glass as a material - other sources of inspiration were the play of light in nature. A major driving force in his work was the joy in the craftsmanship that shines through in the cabin and the collaboration with the masters at Kosta Glasbruk.
Göran first came to Kosta Boda in the mid-60s. He was since 1986 again associated with the brand until his death in 2022. He also taught glass design in Sydney, where he was also production designer for a feature film by Peter Weir. In Northern England, he helped start a glass education at an art school and was its head teacher in glass for four years. He also taught for shorter periods at Konstfack in Stockholm.
