Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta, large red controlled bubble vase
This is a scarce tall Kosta of Sweden opaque vase with controlled bubbles, model LH1336, designed by Vicke Lindstrand, the design dating from the 1950s. The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 70 years of use. The vase was blown in red glass with external decoration of bands of controlled bubbles which was then cased in clear glass, and is roughly in the shape of a true baluster with an asymmetric rim. It measures 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) in width at its widest point.
It ends in a base which is plain on which are etched the words "Kosta LH 1336". The vase is 31 cm (13 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 1.245 kg.
