Dear Buyers, We Are Pleased To Offer You. Kosta Boda Vicke Lindstrand Vase. Terrific and scarce vintage 6.75" tall and 3.25 " at widest heavy blown art glass vase with an applied threaded decoration. Model number LH 1089 designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta Sweden. Acid etch cost Lindstrand mark to base with written LH 1089.

Vicke (Viktor) Lindstrand, glass artist, illustrator, textile artist and ceramic designer. He worked at Orrefors 1928-41, where he designed glass in classical forms with engraved decoration, for the Stockholm exhibition in 1930 a small series of painted, figurative glass was shown. In the 1930s, the engraved and optically blown glass came with powerful figures. Before the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937, work began on a more thick-walled glass and Lindstrand thus came to innovate the Graal glass, he worked together with Edvin Öhrström to develop the thick-walled Ariel glass, which was a new technology.

Vicke Lindstrand was then artistic director at Upsala - Ekeby 1942-50, then worked as artistic director at Kosta glasbruk 1950-73 where he imaginatively designed both tableware and art glass.
