Midcentury Kosta Boda Vicke Lindstrand LH 1261 Art Glass Vase LARGE 10
This is a large 10 vase by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta, now Kosta Boda. Mr Lindstrand was one of the foremost glass designers for Kosta (he became their director) setting the style of Swedish glass for the 50s and 60s and putting Swedish glass on the map.
His work is highly sought after and this large vase is an excellent example of mid-century swedish glass: a skillfull use of black and white swirls (filigrana) in even uniform spacing encased in heavy crystal (sommerso). It is signed on the base. Difficult to photograph because of reflection, I have circled it and tried to mimic the writing beneath.
It reads "Kosta LH 1261" LH being the code for Vicke Lindstrand. This is how they were all signed back then. Its in very good condition with no chips or dings.
