Kosta Boda Set of Sweet Heart Candle Holders by Kjell Engman. 2003 Lead Crystal
A pair of beautiful lead crystal glass candle holders designed by Kjell Engman for Kosta-Boda. This pair of tea-light holders consist of two individual pieces of crystal glass, that can be positioned together to form a heart shape, each has an organic column of coloured glass rising and swirling upwards, along with bubbles and moulding lines to resemble ice. However they can be positioned in any configuration you like.
Kosta Boda is one of the world's leading brands in handmade Swedish art glass. The factory started life in 1742. They have a glassworks in the heart of the forests in the Swedish province of Småland.
About Kjell Engman (1946-) was one of Sweden's leading glass artists in the 20th and 21st century. After his art studies at "Konstfack" in Stockholm, he has worked for the Kosta Boda glassworks for more than 40 years. Kjell became a prominent designer of glass vases, bowls, and sculptures with kitschy and humorous expressions.His artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. The tallest is 16cm tall the shorter is 11cm tall. Together they weigh nearly 4kg. A wonderful example of fine Swedish glassware.
