This is a Kosta Boda Satellite Vase, model 89724, designed by Bertil Vallien in 1992. The vase is in excellent condition for its age.
It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use. The vase is a flattened bottle in shape with a clear glass neck which has an applied pale orange glass annular neck ring and an everted pouring rim. The body is cased in red glass speckled with occasional green, white and yellow spots. There are gold coloured foil-like squares on each of the flat sides. The vase is 29.5 cm (11.8 inches) in height and measures 18 cm (7.2 inches) across at its widest point. The base has a polished out pontil mark.There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. It appears to be unsigned. It weighs in at 1.74 kg.
