Signed BERTIL VALLIEN Art Glass Collection. Offering a vintage Scandinavian Art Glass Piece, one of the RARE in RED big Bottle Vases by the great master artist Bertil Vallien for BODA Sweden. It is heavy handblown glass with a luster white satin glaze and a red overlay abstract pattern. Beautifully executed and signed by Bertil Vallien, one of the most internationally celebrated glass artists and designers in Sweden.

He received numerous awards and his work is well represented in leading museums around the world. His work represents a mythical, dream-like world of symbolic imagery. The vase dates to 1982 and is in perfect condition, with no chips or cracks. Background: Kosta glasbruk was founded in 1742 and is one of the worlds oldest, still operating glassworks. Over the years, Kosta became Sweden´s leading glassworks and manufactured all types of glass, from simple bottles to luxury drinking glasses. Art glass pieces by Kosta are usually signed although most production glass is not signed. Kosta Boda was formed in 1976 through a merger of the glassworks in the communities of Kosta, Boda, and Orrefors. The 1986 Kosta Book of Glass confirms the coding on this Galaxy Red Vase to be blown glass by designer Bertil Vallien. The vase is signed on the base Kosta Boda Artist Coll(ection) B.
