Vintage Kosta Boda BERTIL VALLIEN Signed APHRODITE BLACK & WHITE Art Glass Fenicio Vase #48535 SWEDEN. Beautiful iridescent art glass vase from the "Aphrodite" Range designed in 1985 by renowned glass artisan Bertil Vallien for Kosta Boda and made in Sweden. From the "Artist Collection" , this dynamic hand-blown "Aphrodite" vase has a tall oval egg shaped body with a narrow neck and base, it features a fluid threaded-and-pulled pattern of black pulled swirls on iridescent white with an almost satin sheen.
Hand etched signature on the bottom Kosta Boda , Artist Coll , B. Vallien along with the style number 48535. Also has original Kosta Boda sticker reading Kosta Boda, Kosta Boda AB, Sweden, Handmade. Approximate measurements: 7-3/4" tall, 9-1/2" long, 6 deep. Condition: Bottom of the base where the signature is shows some scratches from wear.
Also, part of the Kosta Boda sticker is torn on one corner. Otherwise this vase is in excellent preowned condition. The little black scratch matks on the top of the neck are from the making and not actual damage. No chips, cracks, nicks or repairs.Comes as shown and as made.
