Bertil Vallien : (Born January 17, 1938) is by far the most internationally celebrated glass artist and designer in Sweden. He has received numerous awards and his work is well represented in leading museums around the world. He works in a mythical, dream-like world of symbolic imagery. He undertakes what he himself describes as a never-ending research quest, in close cooperation with his co-workers at Åfors Glassworks, several of whom have worked with Vallien for decades. Bertil Vallien is known most of all as the master of sand molding.
The term sandcasted glass has come to to be inextricably linked with Bertil Vallien. He took up and developed this originally industrial technique.. The contemporary Swedish artist Bertil Vallien.

Approximate measurements are 7.5 inches height exclusive of wooden base by 5.75 inches length by 2 inches depth.. The base is 10 inches length by 5 inches depth bu 1 7/8 inches height.... Light signs of previous ownership needs to be taken into consideration...
A nice example, free of nicks, flea bites, slight to none on the surface markings - Minor wear consistent with age and history. The wood base has some scratches on the topside. Keep in mind, this is not a new store item but previously owned and a vintage art glass piece.... A wonderful piece to own for the collector of Kosta Boda or Swedish Glass.
